Who We Are

THIS LOCAL CHURCH OF CHRIST commenced meetings in Applewood, Mississauga in September 1988. Our first public services began at Sawmill Valley Public School in March 1989; the Church formally organized in 1991, and registered as a legal charity in 1991.

WE HOLD THE CHRISTIAN FAITH PURE AND SIMPLE, as recovered by the Protestant Reformers from the Bible alone. We are Evangelical or Fundamentalist in outlook, Calvinistic or Reformed in doctrine, Independent in government, and Baptist in our practice. Our teaching on the Lord Jesus' Return is Amillenial. We are separated to the Gospel from worldliness, heresy, ecumenism, and the charismatic movement.

WE WORK IN FELLOWSHIP WITH LIKE-MINDED CHURCHES AT HOME AND ABROAD. We are linked to Strict Baptist Churches of Britain through the ‘GRACE’ Directory of Churches. We hold membership in the Association of Reformed Baptist Churches of America, and we maintain contact with sister Churches of like precious faith in Canada. Through our American and British associations, we also share in the Gospel witness of sister Churches in the West Indies, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

OUR TASK IS THE WORSHIP THE TRIUNE GOD IN CHRIST, AND TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST IN THIS COMMUNITY AND IN ALL LANDS. OURS IS A HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR ALL PEOPLE – REGARDLESS OF RACE, BACKGROUND, INCOME, CLASS, OR COLOUR.

OUR MINISTRIES have included open-air preaching, hospital services, literature tables at local malls and fairs, Bible and tract distribution, newspaper Gospel articles, radio broadcasts and neighbourhood visitation.
